On Friday, 11 May 2018, at night at 0:41, in Šalčininkų district municipality, on the Vilnius–Lyda main road (kilometre 37.80), a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved a Peugeot 806 and a Ford Transit. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 28-year-old driver of the Peugeot, who violated overtaking rules. He was drunk (2.56‰ blood alcohol) and had no driving licence. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was unlit, the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 90 km/h.
