Drunk MAN truck driver hits a parked Volkswagen on the Naujoji Akmenė–Venta road
On Tuesday, 19 June 2018, in the morning at 8:53, in Akmenės district municipality, Pašakarnių village, on the Naujoji Akmenė–Venta national road (kilometre 1), a collision with a stationary vehicle occurred. The collision involved a MAN TGX, a Krone SDP27 and a Volkswagen Crafter 35. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 30-year-old driver of the MAN, who failed to keep a safe distance. He was drunk (0.47‰ blood alcohol) and had no driving licence. At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 20 km/h.
