On Saturday, 7 July 2018, in the afternoon at 14:24, in Kelmės district municipality, on the Paraseinys–Alėjai–Lioliai–Kelmė regional road (kilometre 21), a MAN hit a pedestrian away from any crossing. One person died — a 50-year-old pedestrian. The accident was caused by a 50-year-old pedestrian, who was crossing the carriageway in a built-up area outside a crossing where there is a median strip. He was drunk (3.22‰ blood alcohol). The driver was sober. At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
