On Saturday, 14 July 2018, in the evening at 22:10, in Panevėžys, on J. Basanavičiaus street, at the junction with Vilniaus street, a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved a Volvo V40 and a BMW 330D. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 21-year-old driver of the Volvo (5 years of driving experience), who failed to keep a safe distance. He fled the scene. Both drivers were sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA).
