On Saturday, 14 July 2018, at night at around 2:00, in Klaipėda, on S. Šimkaus street near No. 8, a collision with a stationary vehicle occurred. The collision involved a BMW, a BMW 316I and an Audi A4. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 19-year-old driver of the BMW (less than a year of driving experience), who failed to keep a safe distance. He was drunk (1.83‰ blood alcohol). According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was dark, the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 20 km/h.
