On Wednesday, 18 July 2018, in the morning at around 8:00, in Vilnius, on A. P. Kavoliuko street near No. 9, a collision with a stationary vehicle occurred. The collision involved a BMW and a Volvo S60. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 21-year-old driver of the BMW (2 years of driving experience), who failed to keep a safe distance. He fled the scene. Both drivers were sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry.
