On Wednesday, 18 July 2018, in the afternoon at 11:25, in Kaunas, on J. Lukšos-Daumanto street, at the junction with Lazūnų street, a side collision with neither vehicle turning occurred. The collision involved a Ford Focus and a Citroen C4 Picasso. Two people were injured — a 65-year-old passenger of the Ford (treated as an outpatient) and the 49-year-old driver of the Citroen (treated as an outpatient). The accident was caused by the 38-year-old driver of the Ford (13 years of driving experience), who failed to give way when crossing an intersection. Both drivers were sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry.
