Drunk, hit-and-run BMW driver runs off the road on Klaipėdos g., Šilutė
On Saturday, 21 July 2018, at night at 23:49, in Šilutės district municipality, on Klaipėdos street, a BMW 730 ran off the road. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 22-year-old driver of the BMW, who failed to choose a safe speed. He was drunk (0.88‰ blood alcohol), had no driving licence and fled the scene. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was lit, it was overcast, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
