On Saturday, 28 July 2018, in the evening at 17:41, in Biržų district municipality, on Respublikos street, at the junction with Vytauto street, a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved a Skoda Octavia registered in Latvia and an Opel Astra. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 42-year-old driver of the Skoda (10 years of driving experience), who committed other traffic rule violations. He fled the scene. Both drivers were sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry.
