On Tuesday, 31 July 2018, in the morning at 7:30, in Marijampolės municipality, on the Mauručiai–Vinčai–Puskelniai national road (kilometre 28.75), a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved an Audi A3 and an Opel Vectra. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 29-year-old driver of the Audi, who failed to keep a safe distance. He had no driving licence. Both drivers were sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA).
