On Friday, 3 August 2018, in the evening at 20:35, in Vilkaviškio district municipality, on the Marijampolė–Kybartai–Kaliningradas main road (kilometre 23.55), a collision with a moped occurred. The collision involved an Aprilia SR 50 and a Mazda 626. Two people were injured — the 17-year-old driver of the Aprilia (hospitalized) and a 15-year-old passenger of the Aprilia (hospitalized). The accident was caused by the 17-year-old driver of the Aprilia (2 years of driving experience), who failed to give way when crossing an intersection. Both drivers were sober.
