On Sunday, 12 August 2018, in the evening at around 19:00, in Vilnius, on Žaliakalnio street near No. 55, a BMW 320D ran off the road. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 23-year-old driver of the BMW (less than a year of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. He had no driving licence and fled the scene. The driver was sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was overcast, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
