On Monday, 13 August 2018, in the afternoon at 14:24, in Kupiškio district municipality, on the Kupiškis–Utena national road (kilometre 5.87), a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved an Iveco 35-8 registered in Belarus, a Manitou MLT 735-120LSU and a 021 11254 registered in Belarus. One person was injured — the 39-year-old driver of the Manitou (hospitalized). The accident was caused by the 56-year-old driver of the Iveco (30 years of driving experience), who failed to keep a safe distance. Both drivers were sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was overcast, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 90 km/h.
