On Sunday, 12 August 2018, in the afternoon at around 14:00, in Telšių district municipality, Degaičių village, on Degaičių street near No. 10, at the junction with Mokyklos street, a collision with a bicycle occurred. The collision involved a Renault Megane Scenic and a bicycle. One person was injured — a 32-year-old cyclist (hospitalized). The accident was caused by the 44-year-old driver of the Renault (10 years of driving experience), who failed to give way when crossing an intersection. He fled the scene. Both drivers were sober. At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
