On Friday, 17 August 2018, at night at 3:50, in Skuodo district municipality, Kernų village, on Skuodo street near No. 8, a BMW 530 ran off the road. Two people were injured — a 17-year-old passenger of the BMW (treated as an outpatient) and a 16-year-old passenger of the BMW (hospitalized). The accident was caused by the 28-year-old driver of the BMW (2 years of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. He was drunk (1.64‰ blood alcohol). At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was unlit, there was fog, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
