On Saturday, 18 August 2018, in the afternoon at around 12:00, in Klaipėda, on Danės street, at the junction with Naujoji Uosto street, an Opel Zafira registered in Latvia ran off the road. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 19-year-old driver of the Opel (1 year of driving experience), who failed to keep a safe distance. The driver was sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was overcast, the road surface was dry.
