On Sunday, 9 September 2018, in the evening at around 20:00, in Šiauliai, on K. Korsako street near No. 59, in a yard, a collision with a stationary vehicle occurred. The collision involved a Mitsubishi Galant and a BMW X5 3.0D. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 31-year-old driver of the Mitsubishi, who failed to keep a safe distance. He was drunk (1.45‰ blood alcohol) and had no driving licence. A 31-year-old passenger of the Mitsubishi was drunk (2.31‰). According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was twilight, the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 20 km/h.
