On Sunday, 16 September 2018, at night at 2:30, in Kauno district municipality, on the Kaunas–Zapyškis–Šakiai national road (kilometre 14.20), a BMW 320 hit an obstacle. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 55-year-old driver of the BMW, who failed to choose a safe speed. She was drunk (1.57‰ blood alcohol) and had no driving licence. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA).
