On Monday, 17 September 2018, in the afternoon at around 15:00, in Šalčininkų district municipality, on Vilniaus street near No. 5D, at a yard or parking-lot exit, a Volkswagen Passat hit an obstacle. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 44-year-old driver of the Volkswagen (20 years of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. He was drunk (1.50‰ blood alcohol). According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA).
