On Sunday, 23 September 2018, at night at 1:12, in Lazdijų district municipality, on the Krosna–Lazdijai regional road (kilometre 3.50), a Citroen C5 ran off the road. One person was injured — a 42-year-old passenger of the Citroen (treated as an outpatient). The accident was caused by the 22-year-old driver of the Citroen (less than a year of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. He was drunk (1.58‰ blood alcohol) and had no driving licence. At the time of the accident it was twilight, the weather was clear, the road surface was dry.
