On Tuesday, 25 September 2018, in the afternoon at 15:10, in Šiaulių district municipality, on the Ryga–Šiauliai–Tauragė–Kaliningradas main road (kilometre 69.12), a falling cargo occurred. The accident involved a MAN, a Schmitz, a Volkswagen Touran, an Audi A6 and a Subaru Legacy. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 53-year-old driver of the Schmitz (14 years of driving experience), who violated cargo-transport rules. He fled the scene. All drivers were sober.
