On Friday, 28 September 2018, in the evening at around 19:00, in Kaunas, on Savanorių pr., at the junction with Šiaurės pr., a collision while turning left (U-turning) occurred. The collision involved a Toyota Yaris and a BMW 530 D. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 32-year-old driver of the Toyota (9 years of driving experience), who failed to give way when changing direction. Both drivers were sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was overcast, the road surface was wet.
