On Sunday, 30 September 2018, at night at 4:55, in Klaipėda, on I. Simonaitytės street near No. 11, a collision with a stationary vehicle occurred. The collision involved an Opel Omega and a Nissan Almera Tino. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 29-year-old driver of the Opel, who failed to keep a safe distance. He was drunk (2.22‰ blood alcohol), had no driving licence and fled the scene. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA).
