On Monday, 1 October 2018, in the afternoon at around 15:00, in Kaunas, on Panerių street near No. 31, at the junction with Radvilų Dvaro street, a side collision with neither vehicle turning occurred. The collision involved a BMW 525 D and a Volkswagen Touareg. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 35-year-old driver of the BMW (10 years of driving experience), who failed to give way when crossing an intersection. Both drivers were sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
