On Friday, 5 October 2018, in the evening at 19:30, in Kauno city municipality, on the Vilnius–Kaunas–Klaipėda (d. pusė) main road (kilometre 100.85), a collision while turning right occurred. The collision involved a Scania, a Schmitz Cargobull and an Audi A6. Two people were injured — a 58-year-old passenger of the Audi (treated as an outpatient) and a 28-year-old passenger of the Audi (treated as an outpatient). The accident was caused by the 37-year-old driver of the Scania (7 years of driving experience), who failed to give way when changing direction. Both drivers were sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was twilight, the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 80 km/h.
