On Monday, 8 October 2018, in the morning at 7:49, in Jonavos district municipality, on J. Basanavičiaus street, at the junction with Ukmergės street, a collision while turning left (U-turning) occurred. The collision involved a Volvo V70 and a Citroen C2. Three people were injured — the 30-year-old driver of the Volvo (hospitalized), a 25-year-old passenger of the Volvo (hospitalized) and the 78-year-old driver of the Citroen (treated as an outpatient). The accident was caused by the 30-year-old driver of the Volvo (10 years of driving experience), who failed to comply with road signs or markings. Both drivers were sober.
