On Thursday, 11 October 2018, in the afternoon at 14:45, in Šalčininkų district municipality, on the Vilnius–Lyda main road (kilometre 26), a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved an Audi 8D, Audi A4, -S4 and a Ford Mondeo. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 50-year-old driver of the Audi, who failed to keep a safe distance. He was drunk (1.79‰ blood alcohol) and had no driving licence. At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 90 km/h.
