On Wednesday, 24 October 2018, in the evening at 18:15, in Šiauliai, on J. Basanavičiaus street, at the junction with Birutės street, a Volvo S80 hit a pedestrian at a pedestrian crossing. One person was injured — a 48-year-old pedestrian (hospitalized). The accident was caused by the 76-year-old driver of the Volvo (51 years of driving experience), who failed to fulfil pedestrian duties. The driver was sober.
