On Thursday, 8 November 2018, in the afternoon at around 15:00, in Marijampolės municipality, on Laisvės street near No. 16, in a yard, a collision with a stationary vehicle occurred. The collision involved a Hyundai Matrix and a Volvo. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 20-year-old driver of the Hyundai, who committed other traffic rule violations. He had no driving licence and fled the scene. Both drivers were sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was overcast, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 20 km/h.
