On Tuesday, 27 November 2018, at night at 1:20, in Šilalės district municipality, Paneročio village, on the Balsiai–Kaltinėnai–Kražiai regional road (kilometre 2), a Citroen Xsara ran off the road. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 15-year-old driver of the Citroen, who failed to choose a safe speed. He was drunk (0.44‰ blood alcohol), had no driving licence and fled the scene. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was unlit, it was overcast, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 90 km/h.
