On Thursday, 6 December 2018, in the morning at 8:50, in Plungės district municipality, Skurvydų village, on Paplatelės street near No. 23, a head-on collision occurred. The collision involved a Citroen C3 and a Citroen Berlingo registered in Poland. Six people were injured — the 25-year-old driver of the Citroen C3 (severely injured, hospitalized), a 43-year-old passenger of the Citroen C3 (hospitalized), a 46-year-old passenger of the Citroen Berlingo (treated as an outpatient), the 37-year-old driver of the Citroen Berlingo (hospitalized, was not wearing a seatbelt), a 40-year-old passenger of the Citroen Berlingo (hospitalized, was not wearing a seatbelt) and a 45-year-old passenger of the Citroen Berlingo (severely injured, hospitalized). The accident was caused by the 25-year-old driver of the Citroen C3 (5 years of driving experience), who entered the oncoming traffic lane. Both drivers were sober. At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was icy. The speed limit on this section is 90 km/h.
