On Friday, 14 December 2018, in the afternoon at around 13:00, in Kaunas, on R. Kalantos street near No. 49, a collision while turning left (U-turning) occurred. The collision involved an Opel Astra and a BMW 323. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 22-year-old driver of the Opel (5 years of driving experience), who failed to give way when changing direction. Both drivers were sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was overcast, the road surface was wet.
