On Friday, 14 December 2018, in the evening at around 18:00, in Kaunas, on Taikos pr., at the junction with Garažų street, a side collision with neither vehicle turning occurred. The collision involved an Audi A6 and a Ford Focus. One person was injured — the 29-year-old driver of the Ford (treated as an outpatient). The accident was caused by the 40-year-old driver of the Audi (20 years of driving experience), who failed to give way when crossing an intersection. Both drivers were sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was lit, it was overcast, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
