On Monday, 17 December 2018, in the morning at 10:15, in Tauragės district municipality, Butkelių village, on Topolių street near No. 34, a Mitsubishi Outlander registered in France ran off the road. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 32-year-old driver of the Mitsubishi (14 years of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. He fled the scene. The driver was sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA).
