On Friday, 21 December 2018, in the morning at 7:37, in Šilutės district municipality, Grabupių village, on Miško street near No. 26, a Skoda Octavia hit an obstacle. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 34-year-old driver of the Skoda, who failed to choose a safe speed. He was drunk (1.79‰ blood alcohol), had no driving licence and fled the scene. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was twilight, it was snowing, the road surface was snow-covered. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
