On Friday, 21 December 2018, in the morning at around 8:00, in Kaunas, on Kalniečių street, at the junction with 184 street, a car hit a pedestrian at a pedestrian crossing. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 44-year-old driver of a car (27 years of driving experience), who failed to fulfil pedestrian duties. The driver was sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was lit, it was snowing, the road surface was snow-covered. The speed limit on this section is 30 km/h.
