On Friday, 21 December 2018, in the afternoon at around 15:00, in Kaunas, on Veiverių street near No. 150, a Mercedes-Benz hit a pedestrian at a pedestrian crossing. One person was injured — a 22-year-old pedestrian (treated as an outpatient). The accident was caused by the 45-year-old driver of the Mercedes-Benz (25 years of driving experience), who failed to give way when changing direction. The driver was sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was snowing, the road surface was snow-covered.
