On Sunday, 23 December 2018, in the evening at around 18:00, in Vilnius, on Kareivių street near No. 16, in a yard, a collision with a stationary vehicle occurred. The collision involved a Toyota and an Audi A4 Avant. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 73-year-old driver of the Toyota (40 years of driving experience), who failed to keep a safe distance. He fled the scene. Both drivers were sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was dark, it was overcast, the road surface was snow-covered. The speed limit on this section is 20 km/h.
