On Monday, 14 January 2019, in the afternoon at 11:45, in Vilnius, on Rugių street near No. 18, a collision with a stationary vehicle occurred. The collision involved a Mercedes-Benz 711 and an Audi A8. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 56-year-old driver of the Mercedes-Benz (35 years of driving experience), who failed to keep a safe distance. He fled the scene. Both drivers were sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was twilight, it was snowing, the road surface was snow-covered. The speed limit on this section is 20 km/h.
