On Monday, 7 January 2019, in the afternoon at around 12:00, in Vilnius, on Palangos street near No. 4, a side collision with neither vehicle turning occurred. The collision involved a Toyota Prius and a Honda Civic. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 48-year-old driver of the Toyota (10 years of driving experience), who failed to keep a safe distance. He fled the scene. Both drivers were sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was snow-covered.
