On Wednesday, 16 January 2019, in the morning at around 7:00, in Vilnius, on Viršuliškių street near No. 22, a collision with a stationary vehicle occurred. The collision involved a Volvo V50 and an Audi A4 Avant. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 23-year-old driver of the Volvo (4 years of driving experience), who failed to keep a safe distance. He fled the scene. Both drivers were sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was lit, it was overcast, the road surface was snow-covered. The speed limit on this section is 20 km/h.
