On Thursday, 17 January 2019, in the evening at 17:12, in Klaipėdos city municipality, on the Vilnius–Kaunas–Klaipėda (d. pusė) main road (kilometre 306.50), a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved a Mercedes-Benz and a Ford S-MAX. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 45-year-old driver of the Mercedes-Benz (26 years of driving experience), who failed to give way when changing direction. He fled the scene. Both drivers were sober. At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was lit, it was raining, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
