On Monday, 28 January 2019, in the afternoon at around 16:00, in Biržų district municipality, on Astravo street near No. 16, on a bridge, an Opel Zafira ran off the road. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 73-year-old driver of the Opel (33 years of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. The driver was sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was overcast, the road surface was snow-covered.
