On Friday, 1 February 2019, in the evening at 21:21, in Pasvalio district municipality, on the Panevėžys–Pasvalys–Ryga main road (kilometre 54.17), a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved a BMW 530 D and a Mitsubishi Lancer. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 22-year-old driver of the BMW (2 years of driving experience), who failed to keep a safe distance. She fled the scene. Both drivers were sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was unlit, it was overcast, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 90 km/h.
