On Saturday, 16 February 2019, in the afternoon at around 11:00, in Panevėžys, on Klaipėdos street, at the junction with J. Tilvyčio street, a Volkswagen Golf ran off the road. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 34-year-old driver of the Volkswagen (12 years of driving experience), who failed to keep a safe distance. He was drunk (2.26‰ blood alcohol). According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
