On Tuesday, 19 February 2019, at night at 1:30, in Šilalės district municipality, Medeliškės village, on the Šilalė–Šilutė national road (kilometre 6.88), a BMW 318 rolled over. One person was injured — the 19-year-old driver of the BMW (hospitalized, was not wearing a seatbelt). The accident was caused by the 19-year-old driver of the BMW, who failed to choose a safe speed. He was drunk (1.28‰ blood alcohol) and had no driving licence. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was unlit, it was overcast, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 90 km/h.
