On Tuesday, 19 February 2019, in the evening at around 20:00, in Vilnius, on Panerių street, at the junction with Smolensko street, at a pedestrian crossing, a collision with a stationary vehicle occurred. The collision involved a BMW 320 and a Volkswagen Caddy. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 30-year-old driver of the BMW (3 years of driving experience), who failed to keep a safe distance. He was drunk (1.27‰ blood alcohol). According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was lit, it was overcast, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
