On Saturday, 2 March 2019, in the evening at around 18:00, in Kauno district municipality, Giraitės village, on Topolių street near No. 6, a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved a Volkswagen Caddy and a Peugeot 206. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 34-year-old driver of the Volkswagen (less than a year of driving experience), who failed to keep a safe distance. He had no driving licence and fled the scene. Both drivers were sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was overcast, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
