On Thursday, 14 March 2019, in the evening at 18:55, in Kaunas, on Savanorių pr. near No. 346, at a yard or parking-lot exit, an Opel Astra hit a pedestrian away from any crossing. One person was injured — a 71-year-old pedestrian (treated as an outpatient). The accident was caused by the 51-year-old driver of the Opel (34 years of driving experience), who failed to fulfil pedestrian duties. The driver was sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA).
