Drunk Volkswagen driver runs off the road on the Plungė–Vėžaičiai road
On Sunday, 17 March 2019, in the afternoon at 15:38, in Klaipėdos district municipality, on the Plungė–Vėžaičiai national road (kilometre 35.05), a Volkswagen Golf ran off the road. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 30-year-old driver of the Volkswagen, who failed to choose a safe speed. He was drunk (1.98‰ blood alcohol) and had no driving licence. At the time of the accident it was overcast, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
